EN ISO 1182: Fire Reaction Tests for Building Products – Non-combustibility Test.
This instrument is used to determine the non-combustibility of the substantial components of homogeneous and heterogeneous building products under specific conditions.
This test is part of the European Building Products Classification Standard’s requirements for fire reaction performance of wall linings, roofing products, and flooring materials.
The complete classification and performance standards can be found in a separate document, “Instruments for Fire Testing in Accordance with the New European Standards for Fire Testing and Classification of Building Products.”
How to Use
How to use the Zonsky Non-combustibility Tester for Product Classification: The European Building Products Classification Standard is used to classify all building products, with performance grades from A to F.
A non-combustibility test must be performed when classifying all types of building products for the highest performance grades – A1 and A1fl (non-combustible), although another test is required for the assessment.
The classification criteria are shown in the table below.
| Classification and testing methods for building products other than paving materials. | |||
| Level | Test methods | Classification criteria | Other test methods |
| A1, A1fl | EN ISO 1182 | ΔT ≥ 30°C; and Δm ≥ 50%; and tf = 0 (i.e., no sustained combustion). | EN ISO 1716 |
