CPAI 75 test method:
ASTM F1955 Standard Test Method for Flammability of Sleeping Bags
ASTM F1955 Sleeping Bag Flammability Test Method
CPAI 75 test sample requirements
1. Sample: Cut 30cm (12in. inches) × 36cm (14in. inches) from the sample sleeping bag. If the specified size cannot be cut due to the structure of the sample sleeping bag, you can cut 30cm ( 12in.) x 71cm (28in.) sample, folded to form test specimen.
2. Water washing: Wash the five test samples three times, according to the method recommended by the manufacturer.
3. Compression: Before testing, the sample should be compressed 50% to half of its normal thickness and maintained for 24 hours.
4. Recovery: After 24 hours of compression, allow the sample to recover naturally for at least 1 hour.
CPAI 75 Test Method
1. Install the sample on the test stand and clamp the three sewn edges.
2. Place two white #50 mercerized cotton threads 3.8cm and 28cm away from one end of the sample (the ignition end). Tie weights on both ends of the threads, hang them and tighten the cotton threads. The positions of the two roots are the starting point and the ending point of timing respectively.
3. Adjust the fire source and place it in the test cabinet with the test rack installed with the sample installed. The distance between the top of the combustion tube tube and the sample is 1.9cm (0.75in.)
4. Pull down the test cabinet door
5. Let the fire source burn the sample for 30 seconds
6. Start timing when the first wire is burned and the weight falls. Stop timing when the second wire is burned or the fire goes out, and record. Measure the distance the flame spreads and record it.
7. Repeat the test with the remaining samples
CPAI 75 testing requirements
1.The average burning speed does not exceed 15cm/min (6in./min)
2. The burning speed of any sample cannot exceed 20cm/min (8in./min)
