NF F16-102 Fire resistance of railway vehicle electrical equipment
NF F16-102 standard name
NF F16-102: Railway rolling stock - Fire performance. Selection and application of materials for electrical equipment piping
NF F16-102: Railway rolling stock, Fire behavior. Materials choosing, application for electric equipments.
NF F16-102 standard overview
NF F16-102 is used together with the standard NF F 16-101.
NF F 16-102 French rail vehicle flame retardant and fire protection test standard proposes a method for classifying rail vehicle materials based on the results of standardized tests. This classification method enables the above purposes to be established while taking into account as much as possible the combustion of the material and the impermeability and toxicity of the material during combustion emissions.
NF F 16-102 French rail vehicle flame retardant and fire protection test standard supplements the application of electronic and electrical equipment on rail vehicles, rail vehicles - combustion characteristics - material selection, applicable to electrical equipment.
NF F16-102 scope of application
This standard applies to all non-metallic parts and materials in the electrical equipment structure of locomotive transport trailers, that is, non-passenger trailers.
The following situations are not included in the scope of application:
1) Some devices that play a role in decoration (such as lighting fixtures, etc.)
2) Equipment, devices, wires and cables that are the subject of French railway standards. Regarding their fire resistance, these French standards specifically stipulate the test process and its approval process.
3) Refractory materials, such as ceramics and refractory products with or without asbestos
