NF P92-505 Combustion Droplet Test - Standard Overview
If droplets appear during the NF P 92-501 and NF P 92-503 tests, regardless of whether there is burning or not, the NF P 92-505 test should be carried out. Comprehensive evaluation of the M- level combustion performance of the material .
NF P 92-505 is used to test whether the burning of building materials produces molten droplets that can ignite lint ( asbestos gaskets ) . If the material does not burn and produces droplets in other fire reaction tests, or the material shrinks rapidly and its flame propagation cannot be measured , a dripping test should be conducted , and the material will be classified into M1~M4 grades based on the results of the dripping test .
NF P92-505 Combustion Droplet Test - Test Requirements
NF P 92-505 test process requirements: Place the sample horizontally on the sample holder, place a horizontal electric radiator with a power of 500W at a vertical distance of 30mm above it , apply a certain amount of thermal radiation intensity to the sample, and apply a certain amount of thermal radiation intensity to the sample. Place a receiving plate at a vertical distance of 300mm , and place cotton wool ( asbestos gasket ) for dripping ignition in the plate , and test for 10 minutes . During the test, observe the flame combustion situation at the same time. If the sample is ignited in the first 5 minutes , the electric radiator should be removed, and the radiation should be continued for the next 5 minutes . Keep records of the combustion conditions, smoke and other associated phenomena of the sample. If the lint ( asbestos gasket ) is ignited, it is judged to be M4 level.
