ISO 1716 standard name:
ISO 1716:2002 Reaction to fire tests for building Products- Determination of the heat of combustion
ISO 1716:2002 Fire reaction test of building products - Determination of combustion heat value
to standards:
ISO 1716 is similar to the test method for combustion heat value of building materials in GB/T 14402-2007 in the Chinese standard GB 8624 Combustion Performance Classification of Building Materials and Products.
In this test, a test sample of a specified mass is burned in an environment specified by the standard, constant volume conditions, an oxygen atmosphere, and a calorimeter bomb calibrated by standard benzoic acid combustion. On this basis, the heat of combustion value under the specified conditions is calculated based on the observed temperature rise, taking into account heat losses and the potential heat of evaporation of water.
scope:
ISO 1716 specifies a method for the determination of the calorific value of combustion of building products in a constant volume bomb calorimeter.
ISO 1716 describes a method for determining the total heat of combustion ( PCS )
standards:
EN 13238 , Reaction of building materials to fire – General rules for specimen conditioning procedures and base material selection
EN ISO 13943 Fire safety—Vocabulary ( ISO 13943:2000 )
requirements:
Select a representative number of samples from a homogeneous product or a component of a non-homogeneous product. The sample shall be taken from at least five random parts throughout the thickness direction. Sample at least 50g from the main component of a homogeneous product or non-homogeneous product , and sample at least 10g from the minor component (non-substantial component) of a non-homogeneous product .
requirements:
In the EN 13501-1 fire performance classification of building products and components, A1 and A2 have the following requirements for ISO 1716 test results:
A1, A1f1, and A1L grades must meet the following four requirements at the same time:
1) The total calorific value (PCS) of the main components of homogeneous or heterogeneous products is ≤2.0MJ/Kg;
2) External minor components (PCS) of heterogeneous products ≤ 2.0MJ/Kg;
3) Any internal minor component (PCS) of heterogeneous products ≤ 1.4MJ/m2;
4) Overall product (PCS) ≤ 2.0MJ/Kg;
A2, A2f1, and A2L grades must meet the following four requirements at the same time:
1) The total calorific value (PCS) of the main components of homogeneous or heterogeneous products is ≤3.0MJ/Kg;
2) External minor components (PCS) of heterogeneous products ≤ 4.0MJ/Kg;
3) Any internal minor component (PCS) of heterogeneous products ≤ 4.0MJ/m2;
4) Overall product (PCS) ≤ 3.0MJ/Kg.
