NF P 92-507 Standard designation (Class M)

NF P92-507: Buildings - Construction and decorative materials - Classification according to reaction to fire (French Standard)
NF P92-507: Building- Construction and furnishing materials- Classification according to reaction to fire

NF P 92-507 Scope of application (Class M)

  • purpose of this standard is to define the standards for classification of decorative materials based on their fire reaction characteristics in accordance with Chapter 3 of the regulations promulgated by the government on November 21, 2002.“ materials” refers specifically to items that require grading in each of the situations mentioned in the previous paragraph.

  • tests for fire reaction are applied to finished materials, which can be in the form of panels or sheets, films, drop cloths, paper…

  • When testing the fire response characteristics of materials that have been treated with fire protection, their durability performance should be consistent with the NF P 92-512 standard. At the same time, the necessary conditions for accelerated aging testing must also meet the requirements of this standard before the durability performance of the material can be recognized.

  • standard does not apply to unprocessed raw materials and items.

  • standard does not include the testing of shading properties and toxicity characteristics of flammable products.
