ESFR sprinklers respond quickly and can start quickly in the early stages of a fire. In order to effectively characterize the response speed of sprinklers, two parameters, response time coefficient (RTI) and conductivity coefficient C, are generally used to evaluate the response and startup performance of ESFR sprinklers in a fire environment. RTI reflects the action sensitivity of the nozzle, and the conductivity coefficient C reflects the heat conduction ability between the heat-sensitive element and its fixing part.
Dynamic thermal testing of sprinkler heads often uses wind tunnels to simulate fire conditions to determine the reaction speed under different wind speeds and temperatures.
