Standard to American Fire Protection Association (NFPA) NFPA 701:2004 Test Method. It can be applied to single or multi-layer fabrics, but not for fabrics with a weight greater than 700 g/m2 (21 oz/yd2).
The Drapery & Curtain Flame Spread Tester is specialized equipment for evaluating the flame propagation characteristics of drapery and curtain fabrics. This apparatus exposes the textile material to a controlled flame source, measuring the rate and extent of flame spread to assess fire safety performance.
It is used to test the flame retardant properties of hanging fabrics such as curtains. It can be applied to single or multi-layer fabrics, but not for fabrics with a weight greater than 700 g/m2 (21 oz/yd2).
