Bunched Cable Vertical Flame Spread Test Apparatus

What is the Bunched Cable Vertical Flame Spread Test Apparatus?

ZONSKY Bunched Cable Vertical Flame Spread Test Apparatus is designed to assess flame spread characteristics among grouped (bunched) cables under vertical flame exposure. This apparatus subjects bundled cables to a standardized flame source, evaluating parameters like flame spread rate, heat release, and smoke production. It provides critical data on fire propagation potential in cable installations

Compliance:

1. IEC60332-3-10-2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 31: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Apparatus";

2. IEC60332-3-21:2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 32: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category A F/R";

3. IEC60332-3-22:2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 33: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category A";

4. IEC60332-3-23:2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 34: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category B";

5. IEC60332-3-24:2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 35: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category C";

6. IEC60332-3-25: 2018 "Test on electric and optical fibre cables under fire conditions—Part 36: Test for vertical flame spread of vertically-mounted bunched wires or cables—Category D".

Main parameters:

1. Test box: It is a self-standing box with a width of (1000 ± 50) mm, a depth of (2000 ± 50) mm and a height of (4000 ± 50) mm. The rear wall and both sides of the test box should be thermally insulated with a heat transfer coefficient of about 0.7W.m-2.K-1. The material of the test box: high-grade stainless steel plate, covered with 65mm thick thermal insulation mineral fiber in the middle, and baking paint on the outside.

2. Air source:

2.1 The air flow at the air inlet can be adjusted to keep it at (5000±500) L/min before and during the test. It meets the requirements of clause 5.2 of GB/T 18380.31;

2.2 After the test is completed: if the sample is still burning after stopping the fire for one hour, there is an alarm and a device for forcibly stopping the burning by rain;

2.3 Size of air inlet at the bottom of combustion box: (800±20)×(400±10) (mm)

3. Steel ladder

4. Devices of discharging purifiers

5. Ignition source

5.1 Flame temperature: adjustable from 450° to 950°;

5.2 Combustion gas: propane with a purity of 95%. (prepared by customer);

5.3 Power supply voltage: AC220V

5.4 Ignition: automatic ignition by high voltage pulse.

6. Equipment structure:

6.1 The machine is divided into two parts: the combustion box and the electric control box. The two parts are independently movable. The bottom of the electric control box is equipped with casters, which is convenient for movement and cleaning.

6.2 The exhaust outlet of the combustion box is set on the top of the box, which can effectively discharge the exhaust gas at a uniform speed. There are several air inlet holes at the bottom to ensure the oxygen content in the box during the test process.

6.3 There is a water spray device on the top of the combustion box. When the sample burns for a specified time (1H), the power can be turned on to extinguish the flame forcibly.

6.4 The door is installed on the front of the combustion box, and there is a toughened glass window on the door, so that the indoor test situation can be observed at any time. During the test, the door is closed and sealed to prevent harmful substances produced by combustion from polluting the indoor air.

7. Components, materials and functions:

7.1 Chassis size: L1000*W2000*H4000 (mm). Comply with the requirements of clause 5.1 of IEC 60332-3-10.

7.2 Control box: The control box is made of baking varnish, processed by CNC machine tools, and the arc shape is beautiful.

7.3 Blowtorch: The quality is made of stainless steel, anti-corrosion and anti-rust. There are 242 holes with a diameter of 1.32mm drilled on the fire supply surface. These holes have a center distance of 3.2mm and are arranged in three staggered rows, with 81, 80 and 81 holes in each row, distributed within a nominal size of 257×4.5mm. In addition, a row of small holes are opened on both sides of the fire spray plate, and these guide holes can keep the flame burning stably.

8. Control system: in line with the requirements of Figure 7 of IEC 60332-3-10

8.1 The relay control system is adopted, and all electronic components are domestic leading brands, which can better guarantee the performance and detection accuracy of the machine.

8.2 The equipment has the following safety protection devices: power overload, short circuit protection, control circuit overload protection.

8.3 Blowtorch control system: It consists of air flow meter, propane flow meter, regulating valve, ignition device, temperature measuring device, flame extinguishing device, solenoid valve and air and gas pipelines.

8.4 Combustion timing: 0~99.99S/M/H can be set, accuracy 1.0s/H.
