The Burn Through Test Apparatus for Thermal Acoustic Insulation Material is a specialized device designed to assess the fire performance and thermal stability of insulation materials under high heat conditions. The apparatus is equipped with sensors and data acquisition systems to capture real-time data on material degradation, char formation, and material integrity. Main Parameters:

  1. Laboratory:
    • The length and width of the laboratory floor should not be less than 3.05m.
  2. Burner: 2.1 Structure of the Burner:
    • It is an improved gun-type burner. The setting of the burner determines the flame characteristics, and parameters such as fuel pressure, nozzle depth, slator position, and inlet air flow must be properly adjusted to achieve the proper flame.

    2.2 Nozzle:

    • The nozzle should maintain fuel pressure to produce a nominal fuel flow of 0.378l/min.

    2.3 Conical Tube of Burner:

    • The extended cone of the burner is installed at the end of the ventilation pipe, and its length is (305±3) mm. The burner cone should have an opening with a width of (280±3) mm and a height of (152±3) mm.
  3. Installation of Heat Flow Meter:
    • It is installed on a heat insulation board with a length of (305±3) mm, a width of (152±3) mm, and a thickness of (19±3) mm. The plate is fastened to the angle bracket and placed on the specimen holder when calibrating the burner.
  4. Meter:
    • It measures and records the output value of the heat flow meter and thermocouple with a recording potentiometer of suitable range or other suitable calibrated material.
  5. Timing Device:
    • It uses a stopwatch or other timing device to measure the action time and burn-through time of the burner flame, and its accuracy is ±1.5s/h.
  6. Laboratory Tests:
    • Tests are conducted in a laboratory to reduce or eliminate the possibility of fluctuations in test data due to air movement. The length and width of the laboratory floor should not be less than 3.05m.
